Just One More Thing, Doc:
|
"British author James Herriot set the standard for heartwarming veterinarian stories years ago with his classic book, All Creatures Great and Small, but Maine's Bradford Brown comes close."
—Bill Bushnell, Times Record
"If you're a farmer or an animal lover and you want just one more book for your shelf, look for Just One More Thing, Doc. This book will make you content as a cow in clover."
—Terri Schlichenmeyer, Yankton Press & Dakotan
Brad Brown is back with a second set of stories just as entertaining and fascinating as his first book. Whether he's escaping the personal vendetta of a bull named Killer ("I was a matador without a cape"), entangled with a rabid cow, chasing a stallion (well, not quite, anymore . . .) through downtown Bangor, performing heart surgery in an arena, or having a close encounter—while airborne—with a B-52 bomber, this vet regards it all as part of a (long) working day.
Bradford B. Brown, DVM, grew up on a farm in Vassalboro, Maine, and like two of his brothers, graduated from the Cornell Univesity College of Veterinary Medicine. Retired now and living at the family farm in Vassalboro, he's been remembering the people and animals and the many adventures he enjoyed. His first book was While You're Here, Doc.
